Mt. Everest is a mountain of superlatives. The experience of gazing on the world's highest peak is an indescribable thrill - for many, the realization of a long held, sometimes impossible, dream.

While the great Himalayan peaks have their own individual awe and majesty, it is the people who live in their shadow that bring the mountains to life. We visit all the major Sherpa villages including Namche Bazaar, Thame, Khumjung, and beautiful Tengboche Monastery. The climax of the trek is a very early morning climb of the 18,450 ft. Kala Pattar for one of the most awesome views as the sun rises on Everest.

While trekking through the Khumbu, we will have ample time to observe the Sherpa culture, visit monasteries, and walk along mountain trails lined with prayer flags and beautifully carved mani stones - learning how Buddhism influences Sherpa life. This direct route to Everest is a classic trekking experience.

If you want to go on the Mount Everest base camp trek, bigin with a scheduled flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. You can meet a Sherpa team before descending to Phakding. On the next day proceed to Namche Bazar with an extra day spent here for acclimatization.

From Namche Bazar to Tengboche and then to Pheriche. You can spend the day in acclimatization and local exploration in Pheriche. On the 7th day, continue your trek to Lobuche and you can spend two nights in Gorakshep -visiting the Everest Base Camp and climbing up Kala Pattar, before descending to Phortse on the 11th day. From Phortse take a different route to Khumjung and back to Lukla on the 14th day.
